ABOUT ME

mEET Meghan Stewart

Meghan is certified through Unified Mindfulness as a Mindfulness Trainer/Teacher, located in Ottawa, Canada on unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin Anishinaabe territory. Identifying as she/her, Meghan is a multi-racial, Black Woman with a Jamaican heritage. She includes over 15 years of experience within human resources, hospitality and philanthropy into all her projects and offerings. Meghan is currently studying for her B.A. in Human Relations and Spirituality at St. Paul’s University in Ottawa, ON.

She continues to partner with and support people and organizations that aim to minimize suffering and harm within humanity and nature. Her philanthropy experiences include advising for Uniting for Children and Youth, an active member in the OCDSB Advisory Committee on Equity, a temporary role in 2020 as Chair of Parents for Diversity  and now actively a volunteer within their education committee.

In 2021, she launched the Mindful Educator Program as a part of the New Teacher Induction Program for school boards across Canada including the Ottawa Catholic School Board and Durham District School Board. In 2022, she partnered with Dale Allen, to create the Thrive Learning Program for Youth and Educators that fuses restorative justice and the foundations of inclusive wellness practices and approaches. They are currently facilitating this program within schools in the Ottawa/Gatineau area.

Identified by Shifter in 2023 as one of 20 Outstanding Black Women in Canada and featured in CBC Ottawa as one of 10 local Women building community by supporting and promoting wellness. Mindfulness is accessible to harness in our emancipation of mental slavery; it empowers self-awareness, self-mastery and equanimity.
